What is Vista Image Capture?

Vista Image Capture (VIC) is an application that will automate the more complex steps required to create a Windows Vista install DVD with both service packs 1 and 2 integrated.

Prerequisites

Please read Vista Image Capture - How to Use carefully for the steps you need to perform before starting Vista Image Capture for the first time.

Do not run Vista image capture until these steps have been successfully completed.

Process Time - VIC will image Vista and create a Vista x86 ISO image in less than one hour. The x64 version can typically be imaged in about one hour and a half.
No Special Disc Burning Software Required - The ISO image created by VIC is bootable and can be burned to a DVD with any standard disc burning utility that can burn an ISO file to disc.
Verifies Disk Space - VIC will check that you have enough disk space on the Temp drive selected.
